Ask Anna from Bungalow Trading Co.

Last year I had the pleasure of meeting Anna Chisholm, who had recently opened Bungalow Trading Co, in the Melbourne suburb of South Caulfield. The store is everything I love, gorgeous products across the home wares spectrum, key wardrobe pieces and a fabulous fit out!

I’ve asked Anna to be a regular feature on my blog as I love her taste and style, she is my go to girl on the ground for what’s hot and happening in the Australian market.

This week we are super lucky to hear Anna’s thoughts after spending last weekend at Life Instyle boutique trade event, held in Sydney. This is a trade only event exhibiting products from Australia and overseas. I can’t wait to visit her store when I am next back in Australia, these new products all look amazing!

What color trends are you liking at the moment, and what did you see featuring in this years product ranges?

At the moment I’m loving copper and rose gold pieces offset against black and white monochrome. I saw lots of this at this years event, I think copper is a lovely warm hue for winter interiors and accessories. You will see it appear at Bungalow in lighting, Lumiere Art + Co’s canvas planters, copper wire storage baskets and in a special ceramics range by Kaz Morton.

I’ve never been a huge fan of black and white, however there were some beautiful pieces in this colour scheme. I’m planning to incorporate this basic color scheme into the copper story with black and white throws, cushions and accessories and then mixing it up with brights.

There were great colours as well as interesting new leather textures, Arlington Milne have a great selection coming to Bungalow. As do Bonnie + Neil  who always do great colours! I Have bought tea towels, table clothes and cushions from their new range.

Also ticking the colour/texture box for me was a new range of handmade rope and stitched basketware and tableware by Brisbane label Zillpa.

Finally, I’ve buckled and ordered some boots for winter! I have been trying to resist ordering any shoes because I used to work in footwear and am a shoe addict. I fear Bungalow may turn into a shoe store now…..
